There
isn't an apartment in Paris more charming and cheerful...ask
all who have had the pleasure of staying here."Le Provençal"
studio is located on the quiet courtyard of a very charming
18th-century building in the heart of Le Marais. It is completely
equipped in spite of its size! In fact, anyone who has ever
had the pleasure of being a guest will tell you that it
is missing NOTHING!
Complete
with a king size bed that converts to twin beds when desired,
a Siemens brand washer/dryer combination, espresso maker,
microwave, toaster-oven, two-burner ceramic stove, refrigerator,
high speed Internet with WiFi, flat screen TV, DVD player,
stereo, and free(!) long distance phone service...not to
mention plenty of soap, shampoo, body wash, tissues, toilet
paper and all the other toiletries...this delightful and
cozy studio makes a perfect Parisian home for one or two.
The
studio has been crafted with loving hands by a local mosaic artist
who created the mosaic-tiled kitchen and bathroom and special
touches on the walls. The bright colors of Provence make it a
continuously happy place to hang your hat after a long day visiting
Paris.
The
bath is equipped with both a rain shower head and hand-held shower,
magnifying mirror, hair dryer and glass shelving to put all your
personal belongings. There is ample storage space in a floor-to-ceiling
closet equipped with a clothing hamper, marketing cart, step stool,
three areas of hanging space for your clothing, four drawers and
lots of shelving.
Located
on the third floor (European, no elevator) up sweet carpeted wooden
Marais stairs, facing southeast, this quiet studio gets a beautiful
amount of sunlight through all three windows, decorated with colored
shades and white linen drapes. When the windows are open, you'll
be able to smell the fresh rosemary planted in the window boxes.
Le
Marais and the Area Around Rue de Bretagne
With
rue de Bretagne just next door, the apartment embraces the heart
of the Marais and central Paris with all the typical French commerce
you could ever wish for, including three boulangeries
(bakeries), a number of boucheries (butchers), poissonneries
(fish markets), epiceries (grocery stores), primeurs
(fruit/vegetable shops), fleuristes (flower shops), bar/tabacs
(tobacco shops), cafés and lots of excellent and
charming restaurant, not to mention Paris' oldest covered market,
Les Enfants Rouges, which dates back to 1615! In the
last few years, designer boutiques and art galleries have sprung
up like tulips. The district becomes more and more important to
Paris' finest artisans. It is only minutes from the Musée
Picasso, the Places des Vosges and a fifteen-minute
walk to Saint-Paul, Hôtel de Ville and Notre
Dame. Don't miss the Square du Temple, Le Carreau
du Temple and the City Hall of the 3rd Arrondissement before
reaching Place de la République. The
location is great and with a large number of transportation lines,
you're only minutes away from just about every part of the city.

It is always a pleasure to begin a holiday, aftern enduring a long, long flight from the Land Down Under, with a huge welcome from Adrian in her cheerful apartment, sparkling bright in the sunshine. Thank you, Adrian, for truly great accommodation and for being your wonderful self. There is no doubt always you have my five-star rating.
Patricia Young, Hampton, Australia
The location is 5-star incredible.
The street near the apartment has some of the very best restaurants and is the chic place to be in Paris.
The Métro is easy to catch from here. The apartment is super quiet because of its inner courtyard and gets great light. The bed is comfy -- very well organized for a studio apartment.
The shower is elegant and efficient...perfect for a couple. Adrian, the TV celebrity, is a very gracious and efficient host. There is a baker around the corner that has some of the best almond croissants
ever, fresh from oven. The weekend had a huge flea market of antiques and vintage clothes -- my wife was overwhelmed by the vintage Chanels, etc.
The tour bus to catch all the sights is close by to catch -- about a 5-minute walk.
Arturo A., Longmont, CO
What a wonderful visit, the weather was outstanding and Le Provençal met all our needs -- close to everything in a wonderful neighborhood. A fantastic way to begin out 10th anniversary.
Sam and Jon H., Vancouver, BC, Canada
As always, we loved Paris, especially Le Marais! Le Provençal is in a perfect location -- close to everything! The neighborhood is fantastic and there's always something to do or eat. We'll be back!
Rick and Karen P., Orange, CA
Thank you for all your help and patience which made our Paris visit so much more ejoyable. The apartment was charming and its location perfect. Hard to believe so much could be compacte4d with such exactness into a small space. The decor was/is fabulous and most significantly, cheerful. We loved the city, its culture and restaurants and hope to return soon. Our best to you -- you are terrific.

What
more can I say than that this hs been my third year running
staying in Le Provençal!...and I anticipate returning
again next winter. The location, the decor, the accommodations
are all so welcoming!

What
a fab location! We discovered delightful areas of Paris
that we hadn't known existted and went to bed each night
filled with the rich sights, sounds and smells of the Marais...wonderful.

Le
Provençal lived up to its name -- a sunny sanctuary
during a very wet Paris week (but we love it even when it
drizzles). Hope to return soon.

A
really sweet space in a great location. We enjoyed our time
here very much and will always remember our time at Le Provençal
fondly.

What
a wonderful place to spend our 40th wedding anniversary!!
Our two weeks were packed with visits to many of the landmarks
plus lots of walking everywhere to really feel the "atmosphere."
The apartment is very tiny but very comfy and lots of space
to put everything away! We shopped at Franprix nd the deli
and mostly ate in at night (so tired from walking!), but
enjoyed our evening drinks at Café Charlot. Truly
a trip to remember always...

What
a great area from which to explore Paris. The Marais is
such an exciting and interesting place to start. Everyday
we walked these streets we discovered new little enclaves
to explore! The accommodation met our needs and everyday
we would come 'home' relax, read, whatever, before we headed
out again for our evening adventure. The choices are extraordinary.
The Paris Walks was a great resource as well as your City
Walks/Paris, not to mention your restaurant guide. Thanks
so much for your help with the computer. We got it going
and the service was great.

our stay at your apartment! The bed was very comfortable.

Just
got back to Sydney and wanted to let you know that we enjoyed
Le Provençal apartment very much! We were going to
SMS you at the airport, but ran out of time. The location
of the apartment was brilliant and we were able to cover
a lot of Paris attractions. We also appreciated your restaurant
review guide in the apartment, although some of the ones
we went to were closed for August. We were extremely happy
with all the arrangements and will be happily recommending
your company to any family and/or friends who are visiting
Paris. Thanks again!

The
Provençal has provided me with easy and elegant lifestyle
for some weeks...so much so, I leave with reluctance. Thank
you, Adrian, for this delightful home away from home and
thank you a hundred fold for generosity giving your help
when I needed it. May life be good to you.

Thank you for a lovely week in an inspiring setting! Great
decor, well provisioned, and in a fabulous location. I look
forward to returning!

Thank
you so much for providing this beautiful slice of Parisian
life for me and my husband! This neighborhood was charming
and the apartment kept our spirits up when skies were gray.
This was our first trip overseas, but certainly not our
last! I will be counting the days until I can come back.

Thanks
for this adorable, perfectly equipped apartment. You have
made a small space totally livable, with style everywhere.
It was a pleasure to get to know a different area of Paris.
Thanks, as always, for your restaurant guide. This is the
greatest thing for Americans to get beyond tourist-infested
place and experience the real Paris!

Thank
you for such a lovely stay! As someone who has followed
you from your early days (mid 90's), it is silly it has
taken me this long to come back to paris. This lovely little
GEM was a DELIGHT to stay in. It was everything and more!
Thank you for introducing me to an area I would have probably
not stayed in -- it was simply "Parisian" in every
perfect way! Now, how to get back soon?
Katy B., Chicago, IL
The apartment was cozy but adequate with glorious colors.
Having a washer/dryer meant bringing less "stuff"
with us knowing we could do a wash mid-week. Adrian's restaurant
recommendations were right on. We loved shopping for breakfast
food each morning on Rue Bretagne. It was a very friendly
neighborhood.

If
your goal is to exceed expectations you achieved it! The
apartment was exactly as shown in the photos on the web
site only much better in person. This
apartment had everything - including tooth brushes, electric
adaptors, ear plugs, more towels and wash cloths than I
could possibly need. Wonderful comfortable bed and crisp
clean sheets! The place is immaculate, The neighborhood
is great - very safe. lots of cafes, markets, bakeries,
everything just a few steps from the apartment. And did
I mention quiet?? You could not hear one bit of traffic
or other noise. I would recommend this place to all my friends.

This
is my second stay here in Le Provençal, and it really
has become a home, a nest. The place is one thing, and your
kindness is the finishing touch! I plan to return next year,
if at all possible. With kindest regards...

We
enjoyed our stay at your apartment. The area is full of
good restaurants and one time was too short to test them
all. At Chez Omar, we have had the chance to be in a Moroccan
city within Paris! It could not have been better.
Tina
and Eric, Munich
Fabulous
location, so many choices, but not enough time. So glad
we chose this little apartment instead of a hotel. Great
place to spend Christmas!
Kim

Fantastic
location, but never long enough. We'll be back, maybe in
the spring this time.
Gorza

The
location is just lovely and the apartment is tiny but sweet.
Everything you could wish for is there. The apartment is
tiny but perfectly formed, it feels charming and intimate
--100% perfect for the Marais! So great for galleries, restaurants,
and browsing in gorgeous boutiques. Good bars, good food,
good company. We will be back.
Matt
and Garmaine, London
I
really can't think of anything to change -- the only thing
that Le Provencal lacked was a dish brush, and I bought
one at Monoprix and left it! I enjoyed my stay at Le Provencal
tremendously. I loved the fact that there were great shops
(the fromagerie, the caviste, the wonderful covered market
open every day) and restaurants just one minute from the
front door. Although I was alone, I felt completely safe
and secure in the neighborhood and in the apartment. Outside
it was cold and rainy, but in the apartment it was warm
and colorful!

Another
exquisite week in this fantastic city and in the comfort
and convenience of one of your great apartments. Until next
time...
Alan

It
was so much fun to spend the week in the most charming
studio! After reading your newsletter stories about its
creation, it became my dream to stay here. What a quiet
retreat from the Paris excitement. I just wish you had used
those special mirrors that make you look thinner -- after
eating French cuisine for a week...it would make us all
feel more chic! Anyway, loved this place. Can't wait to
return.

Thanks
very much, Adrian. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the
apartment. Your restaurant guide is great and we made friends
at Le Machon. It could not have been better!

We
had a great time in Paris and a fabulous time a Le Provençal!
We had a wonderful stay. This is a fabulous neighborhood
with a lot of goodies. Can't wait to come back!

The
apartment was just great, very well equipped and charming.
And the welcome we received was much appreciated.

I
liked the apartment, and the entire experience, so much
that I wrote about it: I have written about the apartment
in a post on my blog: www.libbywilkiedesigns.com

Just
wanted to pass on that we had greatest time at apartment
and thanks for being so easy to answer questions and well,
just everything! We will definitely spread the word. Adrian,
your choice of Caffé Soprano was the tops! We went
twice -- it was so delicious.

It's
official -- We will never stay in a hotel in Paris again!!!
We loved our stay in Le Provencal! The apartment was wonderful
and well stocked with all the necessities. I would suggest
that you include in your information that things such as
soaps, towels etc. are included in the apartment as we have
rented places previously where we were required to bring/buy
our own and it was a treat to arrive and know this was something
we didn't have to think about. The location was perfect,
the amenities were perfect, the experience from the first
contact was perfect. We hope to see you again very soon
and have told many of our friends about our wonderful week
in Paris at Le Provencal. The Marais, the apartment, the
restaurant recommendations, the marché, the park...all
we wanted and more. You
will see us again. Au revoir!
