L’Aubergine
sits tucked away on an historic and quiet "cul de sac,"
making it an oasis of peace and calm. This second floor apartment
(two flights), has two large bright windows that face a classic
Parisian courtyard. With digicode, intercom entry system and elevator,
it has been completely newly renovated and professionally decorated
to the height of luxury, with a soothing "aubergine"
(eggplant) and taupe color scheme. Everything in the apartment
is new, from the designer linens and towels, to the appliances
and electronics.
As
one enters the apartment, the quality of the finishes becomes
immediately apparent. The full kitchen is equipped with a built
in oven, a two burner stove top, a refrigerator, washing machine
and contains all elements necessary to prepare anything from a
sandwich between sightseeing trips to a delicious multi-course
meal. Meals can be served on the round dining table, perfect for
4, but expandable to allow 6 guests to dine comfortably.
In
the living area is a contemporary sofa that pulls out easily into
a comfortable full sized bed. Behind the sofa is custom-designed
built-in cabinetry, which provides ample storage space. From the
sofa you have easy access to the entertainment center, which features
a Sony flat screen television, DVD player and a selection of English
language DVD's. Cable TV allows you to watch over 100 channels,
including several in English such as CNN and BBC World.
From
the main living area you enter the bedroom through French doors,
complete with blinds for total privacy. The bedroom is made for
comfort with fine linens and a new, very comfortable queen sized
bed that can also be separated to make into twins to sleep two
separately.
The
double-mirrored closet in the bedroom provides plenty of hanging
and storage space. Another door from the bedroom leads into the
small hallway outside the bathroom. The bathroom, which can also
be accessed directly from the living area, has a full shower with
a rainfall showerhead, toilet, sink, vanity with space for toiletries,
and a medicine cabinet.
Staying
connected will be easy from L’Aubergine with free WiFi internet
access and unlimited free telephone calls to over 70 countries,
including the U.S., Canada and Australia.
Le
Marais of the Knights of Templar
This
spot in Le Marais is not only one of the most historical, but
is also one of the most convenient! This is the "Quartier
du Temple," where the Knights of Templar, a religious and
military order formed in the 12th-century to protect pilgrims
in the Holy Land, had a large portion of land and where their
Templar Tower stood. It later became a prison for the doomed French
monarchy. The Tower was razed in 1808, and the Carreau du Temple
market built in its place in 1857 by Baron Haussmann, along with
the Mairie for the 3rd arrondissement and the park, the Square
du Temple -- a great place for kids to play or relax under the
trees. The Carreau du Temple is scheduled for a major renovation
to provide a multipurpose public center. The nearby Marché
des Enfants Rouges (corner of rue de Bretagne and rue Charlot)
is the oldest covered market in Paris, built in 1615, named for
the red uniforms worn by the children of a neighboring orphanage.
The entire area surrounding rue de Bretagne embraces the heart
of the Haut Marais and central Paris with all the typical French
commerce you could ever wish for, including three boulangeries
(bakeries), a number of boucheries (butchers), poissonneries
(fish markets), epiceries (grocery stores), primeurs
(fruit/vegetable shops), fleuristes (flower shops), bar/tabacs
(tobacco shops), cafés and lots of excellent and
charming restaurants.
The
apartment is only minutes walk from Place de la République
which offers 5 Métro lines and buses, plus plenty of commerce
-- all the banks are represented there as well as important merchants
such as "Darty," "Go Sport," "Grand Optical,"
"Habitat" and many more. At this juncture, one easily
can reach by foot all the Le Marais has to offer (Musée
Picasso, Place des Vosges, Saint-Paul, Hôtel de Ville and
Notre Dame) as well as the Canal Saint-Martin in the 10th district
and the Montorgeuil market street in the 2nd district. The
location is great and with a large number of transportation lines,
you're only minutes away from just about every part of the city.

We certainly enjoyed our stay at L'Aubergine! The service was excellent and the location perfect for us. We felt like we were actually part of a neighborhood.

We loved the apartment itself and thought it was very well appointed
and well maintained. I especially enjoyed the fact that the essentials
were already supplied such as (soap: dish, hand, laundry; paper:
toilet; towels; kitchen basics such as plastic wrap, COFFEE!,
etc) It saved us having to navigate the grocery store our first
day! I can't think of anything that was lacking. The location
was so convenient and close to two Métros making everything
so readily accessable. We really enjoyed the neighborhood as well.
The apartment itself was very comfortable and we appreciated the
little extras like the English movies to watch after a long day
of sightseeing! We really enjoyed our stay in Paris and would
highly recommend Parler Paris Apartments to others...in fact I
have sent your link to several friends and relatives already and
wrote a review for Trip Advisor. Everything listed on your website
met and exceeded our expectations and your prompt, professional
and courteous staff were a pleasure to deal with. Hopefully we
will have the opportunity to travel to Paris again and we will
certainly know where to stay!

L'Aubergine
turned out to be the perfect place for my recent visit to Paris.
My daughter is a college student at New York University, and she
was offered the opportunity to study her freshman year at NYU's
Paris campus. Who could say no? Instead of traveling home during
her spring break, my daughter asked if some of her friends back
in Pennsylvania would like to visit her so she could show them
her new city. I offered to escort the three young ladies and help
show them around, since none of them had traveled outside of the
US. I also offered them a place to stay rather than having them
cram into my daughter's small college apartment! Everyone agreed
that it was a much nicer experience staying at L'Aubergine rather
than in a hotel. It really gave the feel of "living"
in Paris, if only for one week. L'Aubergine
was as beautiful as its pictures suggested, and every detail was
seen to. The kitchen was well appointed, and it felt like a luxury
being able to make fresh coffee every morning and even do some
light cooking! Definitely a plus for young girls traveling on
a budget, and they enjoyed doing a little shopping at the local
markets to stock the fridge with drinks and snacks! The free phone
calls to the US were great for the girls to call home and check
in with their parents, and the wifi was a fantastic plus! Their
unforgettable week in Paris was chronicled and up-dated daily
with pictures on Facebook so their family and friends could share
in their excitement from home. L'Aubergine offered every modern
convenience, and was laid out perfectly to enable 4 "girls"
to shower and get ready to go out every day. The location was
secure and quiet, and we had wonderful access to the Metro and
to all of Paris. The elevator was a lifesaver for our bags, and
there were even several parapluies in the room which was a great
bonus as it rained on several occasions! The girls loved the room
as much as I did, and were very comfortable staying there. Sleeping
4 was very comfortable. It was the perfect accommodation for us,
and I kept thinking how much my husband would love to stay there
as well. I would most certainly return to L'Aubergine, but I would
also like to stay at other Parler Paris locations depending on
the reasons for my visit to Paris. I don't think there is a wrong
choice when it comes to Parler Paris.

Our
family enjoyed our rental experience with Parler Paris. My husband
and I were in Le Beau Marais and our adult children were in the
apartment below us, L'Aubergine. Both apartments had everything
we needed for our stay. We appreciated Jennifer meeting us and
getting us settled and for being our contact in case we needed
anything. The location of these apartments was ideal--on a quiet
street yet close to stores and the bustling Place de la Republique.
We especially like the new Nespresso machine in Le Beau Marais--a
great way to start the day and a lovely way to enjoy an evening.
We were very comfortable.

We
appreciate the "extras" in the apartment such as paper
towels, toilet paper, soaps, etc. as it makes our experience much
nicer than having to hurry to a grocery upon arrival to stock
up on these kinds of items. Merci!

I have enjoyed your newsletter for many years and this year I
had the opportunity of enjoying a month in one of your apartments.
It was my own little slice of heaven. Having followed your chats
I was quite certain that what I rented would be of a high standard
and I was not disappointed. Usually when I am away, for even a
short time, I long to get home to my own comfortable bed but not
this time. I assure you, the bed in the Aubergine was as perfect,
if not better, than my own! This made going home even more difficult.
Not only was the apartment perfect, so are your staff. John Rule
in particular has been a great help ever since I made my decision
to have a proper stay of Paris. Each and every person I spoke
to from the 'Leeds enterprise' was polite, charming and helpful.
Do you just automatically attract good people or are you a good
judge of character? I am looking forward to my next vacation en
Paris.
Patricia Young, Australia
The
apartment was everything you promised. The location is perfect
for a short vacation, allowing us to reach every corner of Paris
easily. The apartment is quiet, well decorated, comfortable and
close to many stores. I certainly would recommend your agency
to my friends and would use it again when we go back to France.
